If you would like to know how you can help us on El Oasis, here are our current needs:

For the construction of the family center "El Oasis" we have everything purchased except for the electrical installation supplies, estimated at $1000.  However,  we need the money to pay for the builder to finish the construction .........$4000)

We are also still in need of 125 bags of cement at $7.00 each. (We don't need this cement until we receive the money to pay the builder to finish.......cement can't sit around very long because it gets hard.)

To furnish the center:

• Ping Pong table
• Table soccer game
• Wall darts game
• Small freezer  (we have this now!)
• Learning games and puzzles for toddlers
• Used clothing and shoes (summer weight)
• Kitchen items-pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils
• Board games for family center
• video projector for family movie nights (we have this now!)
• electric adding machine
• VCR (we have this now!)
• Children's size tables and chairs (for the classrooms)
• Power tools such as drill, saw, sander, etc.
• New or used musical instruments......keyboard, guitars, tambourines, percussion items, etc.

Other ways you can give:

• Time and energy to help with the construction (we can arrange for a "home-stay" with a Costa Rican family in the community)
• "Blessing" visits from doctors and especially dentists who are willing to donate time and materials
• Sponsor a poor student with books and uniforms and high school expenses like bus fare and daily lunch  (only $35 a month)

Every visitor traveling to Costa Rica is allowed 2 pieces of checked luggage. Why not bring one suitcase for your vacation and make the other one an army duffel bag or suitcase packed with your give-away clothes and shoes, sheets, towels, household stuff and maybe even some toys for the children? A volunteer will meet your plane or you can leave the bag with the reception desk of your San Jose hotel so we can pick up the bag for later distribution to the families in need. All the clothing is given to the poor. NOTHING is sold. Share the blessings that you have received with those who need a helping hand.
